ok yea my friend was looking into putting a new carb on his car, I have no idea what type though it is weird truck thing, but he nor I don't know a thing about tuning a carb ok can someone walk me through the steps in taking off putting on and tuning a carb typically mechanical choke i know this.

 

Before we could tell you how to tune the carb, we need to know what kind it is. A holley gets tuned differently from a q-jet and edelbrock...THey all have their own ways of tuning them. Let me know and I could walk you through it

 

Step 1 really should be to pick up a good book so you have a reference to look at when people are telling you "adjust the *insert name of one of seemingly thousands of screws on a carb* screw." Exploded diagrams are your friend. A good read will help you understand how a carb works, too.

The Haynes Techbook for Rochesters is really good if you have a Quadrajet. I think it was like $20 at AutoZone or Borders or something.
