Ok, I just finished building a fuel system for my 94 RS. I took the stock return type setup and had it dump into a front tank that holds 1.17L, fucl is dumped in from the top and the return line is at the side for when it gets full. I have a mechanical pump that sucks fuel from the bottom of this tank, it also has a return port dumping back into this tank. Question is, will this work effectively or does anyone forsee major problems in my future?

LOL, that made me smile :P
My in tank pump was just replaced, not wanting to give up 200$ and I hate running fuel line (plus, saving money by using stock bits) and I talked to a guy on another board who owns a 94/95 Firebird with a stock in tank pump and a 355 under its hood running a return type regulator. Now I can't afford such a high end piece, trying to compromise.
So, think it'll work?

all i see is:
a.) To confusing, or you did a crappy job explaining
b.) More trouble than its worth
c.) How many fuel pumps do you have?
d.) Again, why the heck dont you take the time and do things right instead of gerry rig something important as the fuel system.

Yeah I guess I didn't explain it very well, I'm very bad with stuff like this.
The stock pump is a 30 gph unit pushing over 40psi, now I can't afford a return type reg. and I have a new mechanical pump sitting under my bed. The original electric pump is for dumping fuel into the reservior, the mech. pump draws on this. This is partly a crutch until I can afford a new setup, and partly me trying to be creative and using what I've got. Both pumps are return type so fuel will constantly be circulating and filling the tank. I just was curious to see if anyone thinks this will work effectively.
If this isn't enough of an explanation then I don't kow what is.

Ok, i get it. I thought you had both pumps feeding the intake. Dont you have a return line back to the tank handy on your car?
Here i what i did when i got my mech. pump but didnt want to drop the tank yet:
In-tank pump feeds fuel to the mechanical pump, after passing through a filter. the mechanical pump runs to a Mallory 4309 3-port return style regulator. From the regulator, fuel goes to the carb. Then theres the return line.
In-tank>fuel filter>Holley mechanical>Mallory AFPR>carb OR return line
Until i drop the tank this is doing fine for me.
Is your setup carb?

Yeah I'll be using a rebuilt Q-jet until I can afford something better. The return line is being used for the reservior for when it gets full, the mechanical also has a return but it feeds into the res. though. I'm very paranoid about it going lean so I made the tank a little bigger. If it works I probably could get almost a full minute of WOT without emptying it
.
How much pressure does your in tank pump push? If your setup is similar to mine I might just go that route when I do an upgrade.
