Changing Jets and rods??
When changing the jets in a Performer 600 cfm carb do you have to change rods too?
Car wont take full throttle. Its bogs and dies. New tune up, rejetted to 2 sizes larger then stock. Fresh rebuild. and high flow neddle and seats.

No, on an Edelbrock Performer you can change the jets independently of the rods. Jets will make the whole calibration richer/leaner across the board from just off idle all the way to WOT. Rod changes can have different effects depending on what rods you select.
You may want to have a look at another post in this forum titled "can someone help me get my A/F ratio dialed in?" or something like that. More info you may want to know about in there, too.
BTW- it is rare for a new Eddy carb to simply have a big lay-down right outta the box. At least one that continues for more than just a fraction of a second. If your carb is experiencing a quick bog and then it hauls butt, accelerator pump tuning issues are much more likely than basic jetting/calibration problems. Eddys are reaonably close outta the box as far as jets/rods go. Accelerator pump issues are much more common.

I rejetted it to about a 800 cfm is why I asked. I didnt have this trouble until then and someone told me to change rods since I changed the jets.
Update: The carb seems to be doing great. Rebuilt it and cleaned all the ports. High flow needle and seats, and tuned up the ign. system.
Thanks for the reply!
