leaky booster
Well I bought a brand new Speed Demon and got it installed. Unfortunely the right side secondary booster is leaky big time. Anyone know the cause and how to fix it?

The primaries are fine but the secondaries are full. It'll turn over a couple times then stop like the cylinders are full(of fuel). So I can't get an accurate ready on the float levels.

Remove the secondary needle and seat and clean it.
probabily a hunk of dirt sitting on the seat causing the secondary side to flood. Remove all the spark plugs and spin the motor over to remove the fuel if you think its full of fuel.
Do not try to start the motor if its hydrolocked ( full of fuel). You can easily bend a rod or smash a piston.
Remove the secondary fuel bowl and reset the float setting. A good rough setting is achieved by flipping the fuel bowl over upside down and adjusting the float so its
level with the floor of the bowl. (the floor is the roof when its upside down).
This will get you started so you can adjust the floats while its running.

The needle and seat are underneath the fuel level adjustment nut in this pic.
Undue the lock screw and turn the adjustment nut counterclockwise to un-thread the needle and seat assembly. remove it and clean it with compressed air. reinstall it and adjust the float level as above.
No you do not need to remove the metering block.

Ok, this morning I pulled the needle and seat out. Cleaned it and put it back in. The float level still stayed the same and the boosters still leak, I think worse now. Could it be too much fuel pressure? Should I remove the fuel bowl next to see if that works?

remove the fuel bowl and see if the float is full of fuel.
It may have sink .... ouch.
how much fuel pressure do you have?
Did you adjust the float level with the car running?
Clockwise lowers the float level.

without the car running and the ignition on; I'm running about 4 lbs. Is it hard to reset the fuel bowl? I was under the impression that you turn it upside down and press it to the floor.

Setting the fuel level should be the first thing you do before attempting to make any further adjustments. The float level should put the fuel level just below the bottom of sight plug hole. You will make the adjustment with the vehicle on a level surface and the engine idling. You will first remove the sight plug, then to make your adjustment you will need to loosen the lock screw on the needle and seat. This will allow you to turn the adjusting nut to raise or lower the float level. Each hex flat on the nut will change the float level approximatly 1/32". When you have the fuel level just below sight plug hole you will then tighten the lock screw and reinstall the sight hole plug. Make sure you have a shop towel handy in case you have any fuel leaks from the Sight plug or needle and seat adjusting nut.
Your fuel pressure is a little low. should be 6 to 7psi at idle.
what fuel pump are u using? what regulator?
get one of the popular book on adjusting and tuning a holley carbs.

I found the problem. The little rubber o-ring thing on the needle and seat was torn. Anyone know if a holley n&s will work with a demon?

Hey guess what everybody! It worked! I figured what the hell I'll give it a try. Sure as **** it worked. Fuel bowl sitting perfect. As for Summit and Barry Grant; they will be getting a very unpleasant phone call. I wanna say thanks to everybody for the help. Couldn't have done it without you guys.

Just for future reference.....all Holley minor hardware will fit your Demon ( Possible exception is floats...but I think even those are the same ). Needle&Seats, pump shooters, pump cams, gaskets, vacuum diaphrams and springs on VS carbs, Power valves and of course Jets. All are interchangable.

Just going to have to get used to it.
The normal jetting for a 750cfm Demon is way different from a typical 750cfm holley.
The metering is all different.

Oh trust me I drained that before I did anything. And I'll tell you it was a mess. Overflowed the pan all over the parking lot. Now there is a huge moat of black tar stuff.
