stand alone carb?
are there carbs out there that you can just bolt on to the motor and go? like the only thing youd have to hook up is the throttle?
im putting a v8 in my sonoma just for something to do and its TBI and it would be easier to have a carb, any suggestions?

Something that all your TBI hoses/fittings/cables and stuff will bolt onto? Doesn't exist. Always gotta do some tweaking and re-routing when converting from TBI, not to mention needing to use an external fuel pressure regulator to bring fuel pressure down to a carb-friendly level.

read the title.. stand alone, that means you have a motor with a carb on it, the only thing hooked up to the carb is the throttle cable, thats it.

Most carburetors work better when connected to a source of fuel as well.
If you're converting from TBI, you'll need to lower the fuel pressure, as mentioned. You'll also need a new distributor and intake manifold.

Holley carb on my 305
Throttle cable
Gas line
PVC valve
and I think vacuum advance
I guess if you really wanted to - you could run the pcv valve and all vacuume lines off the intake, and just have throttle cable and gas line.

The PCV needs to be to the carb. Connecting it to the manifold vacuum port will lean out the cylinder the port is on.

your question is rather vague...I'm not sure what you mean by a "stand alone carb" but you can get a mechanical secondary and manual choke carbs.
