Okay, let's get the dumb questions out of the way first.
Why don't you just put an O2 bung in the headers and put in an O2 sensor so the computer is happy again?

Guys have been ditching the q-jet since the 80's. How about a fresh idea and keep it? You can still use it without EGR, Air Pump, EFE...all that evil stuff you think robs power.

for a stock 305 you will want ot leave it stock intake and carb
really
the intake on it now is fine
you need ti find a qjet that is not computer controlled and also a distributor that is not computer controlled
then it will work

is that even close to a good idea for you? Nope. What is a good idea for you? To leave it on. Sorry.
I've also never seen an aluminum intake crack... how'd that happen? My brothers composite intake on his crown vic exploded, and that's why I like all metal intake manifolds...

If your current intake needs to be replaced your cheapest route will be a junk yard replacement. For a new intake an edelbrock performer would work well with your setup, next step up would be a performer rpm or rpm air-gap. They'll breathe better up top but you may suffer some performance down low. If you plan on a cam change though, I'd go with the rpm air-gap. Just make sure you've got enough hood clearance first. It's taller than stock.
