Ive been lurking on this site for a while and the info and people are Great...Yes I don't have an F body although Ive owned several..The snobs in the forums for my car look down on converting and the info is scarce....So which that being said a TPI L98 is a L98 and my question is I'm Almost done but the cables look too long..ie acel,TV,Cruise..How did you guys route them?? I have the correct bracket that will go to the back of the manifold..But they just look too long..I could route the under the wiper motor ???Buy shorter Cables??( I don't think I have To)but I want to do it right...Thanks 86 L98,Eagle crank,rods,10:5 Pistons,Melling cam,Crane 6:1 RR Edelbrock 1406,Edel Performer Mani....The list goes On and On

When I did mine, I got the TV geometry corrector bracket, and a spectre adjustable bracket from summitracing.com

SPE-2428 - Bracket

SUM-700203 - Geometry Corrector Bracket

I just wound the cables around so that they curled one time and put them through the bracket. You are going to have to flip the one L shaped bracket to get it to reach far enough. This combo is probably the cheapest way to do it and still have the tranny work properly and get full cable travel.

You are also going to need Mr Gasket part number 1512 if you have the throttle cable with the small cylindrical piece of steel on the end of it. That will make it so you can slip the cylinder thru and secure it.

That's going in you're vette? Did you check hood clearance with the air cleaner yet? It's gonna be even more tight for you since the vette hoods sit lower. I tried a 14x3 on my Iroc and that was too tall so I got a 2 inch element with a standard base and it juuuuust touches the hood when I close it. (this is with the liner removed too). You are probably gonna need a drop base with a 2" element and a flat lid (Mr. Gasket, although I hate them, makes one).

just make sure you reset the tv cable when all is said and done. make sure the fuel pump and fans are still running off the computer (unless you removed the ecu and put some other kinda setup in there). i had that problem without knowing why and had to put the ecu back in.

Thanks Again..I was afraid since I had a "Foreign Car" I wouldnt get a Responce...You guys are Great!!! Yeah I checked and double checked clearence and the hood closes with and inch to spare with a drop base a/c....Also I will leave the ECU in for a while the 86 has a lot of things it runs besides that crazy TPI..so I believe my fuel pump and fans will still run..The ECU is chipped so I hope some of the none ECU stuff will work ie fan temp shift series..Also I have a 4th gear lock up for the trans..just have to install it..I learned most of this from this site.....I'll show pics when done
