600 vac sec or 600dp?
This is going to go on my wifes camaro, 1982 camaro with a 307 that ran great when I bought it...it is a 307 out of a 1969 truck or something that has been rebuilt but it had a 2brl carb on it so the mods made so far are hooker 2055's 3" all the way back to a 3" in dual 2 1/2 out flowmaster. crane cam 266 h10 and 373 posi rear end. It has a 700r4 auto also...other than that everything is bone stock with the motor 8.5 to 1 compression, stock heads ect ect, would I be better off running a holley 600cfm vacuum secondary or 600 double pumper...this will also be sitting on top of an edelbrock performer manifold not an rpm though. Or I am open for other suggestions for carbs that you think would work good on this combo...car will be used for short trips to the store and some weekend trips but I would like to have the power when needed...I am leaning towards the vac sec 600cfm its about $200 cheaper as I am going to buy brand new I dont trust ebay and I dont want to buy someone elses problem.

Have you considered a q-jet?
Either Holley would be fine, but the VS might present fewer problems in your situation.

I already have a square bore manifold and I would not want to mess with any kind of adaptors so a quad-jet is kinda out of the question...plus I can get a holley cheaper. What kind of problems are you talking about when using a double pumper?

The Performer will mount either a square-bore or a spread-bore.
The main problem with a double pumper on a pretty stock engine with stock transmission is a bog when going wide open throttle.

I think I am going to go with the Holley 600 vs then...does anyone know what the part # is for the 700r4 linkage-bracket or what ever else I need for the TV cable when using this carb?

Re: 600 vac sec or 600dp?
Well I bought the holley 600 vs with electric choke for her car...I have it installed and started it, I had to adjust the idle because it was way to high. I have not been able to take it for a test drive yet because I need to pick up the bracket and lever this payday thanks for posting what I need for this conversion, my local autozone has both parts in stock and they are about the same price as online.
Any tunning tips for when I take it for a test drive? What are some common problems people experience with this carb on a 305 or 307? I am in michigan so I dont think I will have any altitude problems so I dont think I will have to do any jet swaps.

What distributor does this have? Forgot to ask that question earlier.
Getting cables and hoses connected are the typical problems. After that, tuning for proper idle, off-idle, and cruise.

This has a non CC vacuum advance GM HEI...after I changed the intake and carb I set the total advance at 32 degrees as a base line until I can test drive it.
