help with hooking up fuel lines

ok i have a edelbrock 1406 and a mallory 4300 fpr (http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku). i am wanting to use my stock lines, i have a tbi, and connect them with the fpr. i am totally confused on how to do this. do i have to use the braided hose stuff? or do they sell something that i could use to use rubber line? i have been looking through summit for something that has an "an" fitting on one end and like a barbed end on the other so i could just slip the rubber line on. any help would be greatly needed. also pics if you have them. -jon

Re: help with hooking up fuel lines

Well, you are going to need to figure out your lines 1st. You had a TBI which means you have an electric fuel pump in the tank. You definately need the regulator and a gague to set it right. You could do either rubber or braided. Braided and the required fittings are foing 2B pricey. If you do rubber, you just need the barb fittings to screw into the regulators ports. Also a plug for the unused ports if it doesnt have any with it. Determine your OEM "feed" fuel line. Should be 3/8s I think. Then you need a 3/8s to -10 thread on the inlet and 3/8 to -8 on the outlet. Determine also your return hose size. The vaccum port isnt used unless you have boost. Leave it capped or alone. They make in-line T-fittings for either rubber or AN to accept a FPressure gague

If you use rubber hose you'll need hose barbs and hose.

You don't need braided hose, but it or hard line would be safer than a lot of rubber hose running everywhere. If you plan on racing the car, you won't be allowed on the track if you have more than 12" of rubber hose total on the car.

You wouldn't find a -6 hose barb. AN sizes are for fittings, usually used with braided hose. You'd want a 3/8" hose barb.
