I need a new carb. Any help on a doo carb/intake combo?(i have engine info inside)

So i need a new carb the rodchester my shop teacher gave me went belly up and is pouring fuel out of the top of the "plunger" area and will barly run.

so its an 88 firebird. converted from tbi to carb. and vacume dist.

5 speed manual

350 4 bolt main year -- 73 its stock and was told it was rebuilt which is beleaveable im pulling 21hg of vacume.

i want to get an intake and new carb all at once.

ive been seeing that the double pumper is recomended for manuals for better throttle response for the mech. secondarys.

so what cfm and intake combo should i ame for. i plan on doing minor mods maybe 300hp in the end but i need something that can work as it sits no and in the end.(minor cam, full exhaust, porting heads.)

thanks for any help! i have till wednessday to have the money for the carb and intake.

Are you using the TPI fuel pump? Do you have a regulator going to the carb?

650 CFM Holley is a good range to consider.

I have a Holley 650 Double Pumper with mechanical secondaries. I had it on my camaro and it ran awesome with it. I was runnin it on an edelbrock performer intake. Right now I'm runnin an edelbrock performer 1405 carb. Its alright doesn't have the power the holley. Let me know if you're interested...

Re: I need a new carb. Any help on a doo carb/intake combo?(i have engine info inside

im actually not sure of the fuel system i just got the car less then 1 month ago. but the guy said they took out the in tank pump and ran a tube with a sock but i dont think they did i think

the block mech. pump is sucking through the dead pump...

it still had the stock inline canister filter under the car and a carb under hood one. i took out the under car one and bypassed it with tube and i dont run dry halfway through second gear at wot anymore.

i need to check my fuel pressure tho in 4th gear at wot right at 4500 it feels like i hit a govenor thats clicking on and off lol its weird.

how much for that holly 650 and how old is it?

did you yourself buy it new or has it been through a couple of people?

how much? and how would we pay and ship?

thanks
