Rochester E4ME Identification
Hey guys I have an 84 trans am and I am trying to identify the carb. The guy I bought it from knew pretty much nothing about the car other than it was his grandfathers and it was carbureted. The plate on my car is one big plate where the one in the picture is 2 separate plates. Just wondering if Rochester made a carb like mine or if the grandfather swapped the carb and distributed for a non computer controlled one.

One big plate? Sounds like an Edelbrock. Does yours have the electrical connections that are shown in the picture?
Re: Rochester E4ME Identification
All QJets had 2 separate air doors back there. The plastic cam that lifts the secondary hanger/rods higher as the doors open is right in the middle- they could not be siamesed together even if Rochester wanted to do it that way.
