More air or cold air?

For a camaro with hood clearance which makes better sense, a taller open element filter (currently have 3") that still breathes in warm air or buying something like the Spectre dual plenum and creating a cold air system that takes it's air from inside the fenders?

Thanks,

Cold is better. I was very interested in the above (or some variation of it), but was concerned about hood clearance since I'm running a drop base already. Spectre does make a drop base version, however. You might check out their web site for more info. Should you go this route, I'd like more info.

Dave Johnson is very helpful.
