q jet non ccc

i have a old q jet with elec choke that i got for free from the guy i got my motor off of.i dont feel like rebuilding it right now cause i would like to see how it works if it works that is before i go and do that. it was very dirty though so ive been soaking it in gasoline all night and took it out and used my air compressor and blew air threw all the lil vacumn ports on it and its cleaning up nicely. my question is what vacumn lines do i need to use? can i just cap all them off? or does anyone have the diagrams for it. my engine is just a 355 with no emmisions or any of that crap.

What distributor are you using?

You need to hook up the distributor vacuum advance to the small front vacuum port. The PCV valve should go to the large vacuum port on the front bottom of the carb. The power brake booster line goes to the threaded port on the back base of the carb.

The rest you should be able to cap off.

You'll have to find the ported vacuum port for the distributor advance. It should have little to no vacuum at idle, and increase with throttle.

Rather than limit the choices to that, I'd say hook it up to whichever it likes better, ported (aka "timed") or manifold. Given the limited information about the car provided, I wouldn't go out on a limb one way or the other.

Re: q jet non ccc

its a 355 with flat tops and 4 valve reliefs. the motor was in a truck and had 882 heads on it. it is built not stock but nothing major. the cam isnt anything big at the moment. the intake is a spread bore i think its just a stock one cause it has no names on it and has the egr provisions but im either making a block off plate or buying one off summit.the only vacumn things i need is for the dist and brakes.
