best carb?

okay i don't know much about carburetors, but i'm considering converting my 305 TBI to carburetion instead of fuel injectors and wanted to know what the best (most powerful ones are). from what i've found, it seems like holley's 1050 dominator carb is the best.

Re: best carb?

nooooooooooo i would not do that. first i'm going to swap out the motor, i don't want the 305, i'll probably end up with a 383 stroker, LS1, or a BBC crate engine or something. i was just wondering.........

Re: best carb?

I would go with a holley, but thats just my preference, which carb is best really depends on usage, and the motor it's going on.

Re: best carb?

I dont think there is such a thing as "best carb". There could be a best carb for a certain application.... Before you even think about a carb your gonna have to figure out what motor its gonna be fueling and what your intentions are with the finished product.

Re: best carb?

I think the carb depends on what applications you want it for, in terms of rpm's and responce

Re: best carb?

Be nice to the 1050 Dominators. I happen to enjoy mine.

The "best" carb is the one that makes the engine the happiest throughout the entire powerband.
