mech fuel pump?

I have an 89 5.7 TPI I just put a new 350 in,edelbrock carb. basically i ran a mechanical fuel pump from the existing fuel lines, it does run, however seems to run out of fuel after about 10 mins. Do I need to remove the old electronic pump in the tank to have no problems? After stalling out it starts up after cranking over for about 15 seconds. then runs for another 10-15 mins. ahead of time

not sure exactly, came with the engine, and seemed to be running fine before.

no, the intank pump needs to be removed, or use it in conjunction with a good aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, and lose the mechanical pump.

Re: mech fuel pump?

You can also power the intank pump with a mechanical pump, as long as it has a return line.
