ok so i wanna buy a new intake my engine block say its a 87 sb chevy it was orginially fuel injected its stwitched to a carburetor and all the intakes on jegs are only up to 86 i was wondering if a 86 will fit on an 87 plz only answer this if ur 100% positive

 

They make for 87 and up.....everyone does..They make whatever you want

Intakes go from model year 86 and under, 87-95 and then 96 and up vortec style. They are in jegs and summit your not looking in the right places.

Is this for a strip or street car. There are different types on intake manifolds that operate in different rpm ranges. Tell us what your complete set up is and we could help you out better.

 

one more thing to take into consideration...some of the intake manifolds cause clearance issues with a stock hood..

 

What carb setup are you using? Edelbrock, Holley? What size? That will help us figure which intake you need to use.

 

You can use an '86 and earlier intake manifold with '87+ heads. The difference is in the angle of the manifold bolts. You can use a dremel to get the bolts to fit correctly, its been done many times before, search for threads. Whether its worth the effort is up to you, people who have done it have different opinions.
