tps adjustment
hi guys, sorry if i sound like i keep asking the same thing but i am a little unsure about proper procedure. Question; when i check the voltage on the tps on my 87 camaro, is the engine supposed to be running, or the key on but engine off? ( 87 camaro 5.0 liter ccc-qjet e4me, auto trans.)
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Re: tps adjustment
leave tps connected & then plug positive probe of digital multimeter into the middle & negative into bottom.

Re: tps adjustment
So when i plug in the meter do i slide the probes in where the wires feed into the connector? or will this damage the connector? I noticed that the connector has kind of a cover that unsnaps where the wires feed in. Also i was wondering if i should have the meter set for the lowest DC voltage setting or would that matter? Thanks!!

Re: tps adjustment
leave theconnector on and plug probes into where wires are, it wont hurt the wires. you can try the lowest dc setting on the multimeter and if no reading then move to next stage until you get a reading. it will be between 0 and 5, like the second post lists.

Re: tps adjustment
thank you very much for the help, i just wanted to make sure i do this correctly as i know that this is a critical adjustment and my repair manual is a little vague (not to mention i am very inexperienced with carbs) thanks again and i will report my findings after i get them.
