Modified Holley 650 Questions
So I took my car to the track this past weekend and what a dog. It wouldnt even spin the tires in the burn out box. Also on take off it was laggy as hell. About half way down the track it's as if I hit an invisible barrier like the car tripped up same problem on the dyno, fell down at 4500/4 psi. I had to back off the throttle and get back on it. Not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions on how to tune my carb?

Some information on your combo would help. Heads, cam, carb, intake etc.

World sportsman 2 heads, not sure the C/C cam is a comps blower cam, Edelbrock single plane RPM intake. The engine was built for a supercharger. I think the carb needs some tweaking big time

Re: Modified Holley 650 Questions
have you back fired lately, power valves are known for blowing out, could be from one back fire. Especially if its an older carb. i used to rebuild mine Holley 650 power valve every spring just to make sure. This year i put one on that has the power valve protection valve. I' excited to see if that makes a difference.

I backfired some. But we just put the trick kit rebuild to it a few weeks ago. I'm leaning toward not enough fuel at WOT and the bowls are emptying out early. Im also going to install my surge valve with a longer intake tube to give more time for the air to get to the carb

you're supposed to drill out the pv protection check valve for boosted engines and use the poly floats. are you using a boost reference fpr?
