Best Manilfold and Carb Combo
Best Manilfold and Carb Combo
Hi I have a 305 block from a 1991 Camaro, i am looking into making it carburated i was wonder if any one had any suggestions on a intake manifold, carb, and distributor combo, also i will be using this engine for a daily driver.

hoepefully you get a different answer than i did. i have a 350 i am dropping into my 87 and i was told it wouldn't pass inspection if i converted it to carb. i never understood that.

for the 305 i would recomend a edelbrock intake. performer series i think its what its called. and a 600 electric choke carb. the edelbrock 1406 is a good carb for the fuel economy! as for the distributor... thats all up to you.

and see the fun others have had and then see if your up to the task. Re: Best Manilfold and Carb Combo
I am not worried about passing inspection, I know you can do it, the car i am putting it in was orginally carburated, so i am not swapping from TPI to carb, the engine i have now, all the intake and carb would fit but that are beat and looking for something a little better.

Get a weiand action plus or an edelbrock performer intake. Then throw a 600 cfm carb on of your choice holley or barry grant.

The original carb and distributor is the best possible combo for a performance daily driver.

That would be a better use of your money. An Edelbrock Performer intake is slightly better than the stock one.
