Anyone try the summit brand 600cfm carb?

I was looking at this summit brand (Holley) 600cfm carb . Just wondering if anybody has bought one and if they like it. I was thinking of putting it on my 86 trans am (LG4) Here's a link to it. My engine is not stock. It has the edelbrock performer cam and performer intake and proform 1.5 roller rockers. Would I have to go to smaller jets with my combo? Here's a link to the carb.

those are just holley 4010/11's with summit badging. they never really caught on, holley tried to use them as a "showpieces" before discontinuing them.

basically identical to a 4150/60...shouldn't have much problems, in fact they look a little more friendly for jet changes.

the episode that came on 4-24-10 was a 383 on the engine dyno. they must have used it before on another car also.

I think now Summit is selling Edelbrock carbs with the Summit logo. I just bought a "Summit" fuel pressure regulator. The box had a Summit part number but when I opened it the regulator was stamped Holley.

If a part says "Summit" on it, you can be sure they had someone else make it for them.

Holley is making this carb for them.

Re: Anyone try the summit brand 600cfm carb?

I went ahead and ordered the Summit 600CFM carb and recieved it a few days ago. It's a very nice carb! Very happy with the quality of it but then again it's a holley. Would have had it mounted on the engine today but I need the bolts that bolt the carb to the intake and NAPA was closed. Should have it on tomorrow and then I'll throw on the new MSD dizzy and see how she runs!

Re: Anyone try the summit brand 600cfm carb?

Well got the car running and it idles great! Only thing I had to adjust so far is the idle as it was a little too fast. Fuel is right in the middle of the sight glass's and everything else looks good. Will know better when I take it for a ride.

The only problem I have is a leaky chrome fuel line that came with the carb. A quick call to summit and a new one is on it's way free of charge.
