when i put the pedel to the floor, it seems to lack power ( feels flat ) not feeling the secondarys pull in. its a 85 carb with the timing set at 4 btdc

 

Thats what an LG4 feels like.

... I kid. If its an auto, is it kicking down when you put your foot down? You shouldn't feel the secondaries 'kick in' if they are adjusted properly, so don't look there. Can you describe in more detail whats going on that makes it feel sluggish?

 

let me restate what i wanted to say. the car has better power now that i adjusted the lean mixing screw stop and the rich mixing screw. from a dead stop it will turn the tires.its the middle rpm range that its feels sluggish, then it will pick up.
