Sticky Secondaries?
Gentlemen,
My Holley 4777 is really wanting to end up in the trashcan...
What I've noticed recently is that when rolling into the throttle the pedal hits a brick wall just before the secondaries. As if the gas pedal is already on the floor, persay. I've had this carburetor for years and for as long as I can remember, it's been a linear transition.
I've also noticed that the idle will hang about 1500-1200 and then slowly return to 800 rpm.
I disconnected the secondaries for troubleshooting, and in general the carb acts much better. No hanging idle, no sticky throttle. I'd almost leave it as is, but I drive alot on the freeway and the secondaries come in handy on those pesky onramps.
I'd buy a new holley but I'd rather put that money towards EZ EFI.
Anyone have any ideas?
If nobody can help, I'm just going to have to CANN the LS1/T56 combo out of my Z28.

If the secondary linkage isnt binding up remove the carb and see if operation frees up, could be touching a base gasket and hanging up.
DOnt T.C. it, if you do send it this way!

As for the idle hanging up...maybe the springs on the butterflies are all gunked up. So maybe try spraying carb cleaner around the springs to see if they snap back to closed.
