alright guys i just picked up this 89 formula and has the 350. i have the tpi but hateeee tpi. i was given a intake that fits. its a C3BX. old school intake. my question is anybody know what carbs will fit it?

 

first off why hate tpi. properly set up i think it would be better than a carb on that engine. and if memory and a friends advice that is not a very good intake at all. and the center holes will have to be either slotted or cut out to fit the newer engine since the center holes are at a different angle. in imho you are going backwards. what is wrong with the tpi

 

if its not hsr not really any power for the rpms. ive been there done that. wanna go into carb area for abit. it doesnt make shizz for power up top with tpi. pretty sure a friend has a 750 were going to try on tomorrow night. worse comes to worse ill just get another intake.

 

You need alot more than just intake. You need carb, intake, Mallory 4309 fpr, vac advanced distributor, TV cable corrector for carb linkage, TV cable, method for TC lockup, throttle brackets, and another $100 in misc stuff to tie it all together!

 

im aware of that. im ordering the regulator in a day or so. if i wasnt sure i would have asked.

 

im wanting to do the same thing on my 88 camaro its tbi. i have every senser brand new new fuel pump,fuel filter,2 new injectors,any thing to do with fuel of fir is brand new and it still has a bad lope in it and runs like its in a strain all the time. any tips

 

might be a warped intake. thats what my problem was on my first tpi when i went to HSR. make sure its not a autozone or any other auto parts store fuel pump. i went thru 10 before i finally bought a walbro 255. but on the intake it had no signs of being warped. just had alittle vacuum leak i could never find til i took it off a third time to get rid of it.

 

its not worth going thru all that trouble on a tbi. just get carb. i ordered mostly everything i need. tax return FTW
