Holley throttle cable bracket
Hi guys,
Has anyone tried one of these type throttle cable brackets with a big drop base air cleaner? (have a Performer RPM intake and Holley 670 street avenger carb):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Throttle-Cab...item2c61ba5f0f
It looks like it may interfere with a drop base.
Also, can the stock bracket be made to work with this setup? What are you holley guys running? It's a T5.
Thanks!
Colin

Re: Holley throttle cable bracket
was it originally a tbi, tpi, or carbed car? i run a spectre universal throttle cable and bracket and it has to be bent down a little to fit under my 1.5" drop base air cleaner. i dont like the way the bracket looks though and will be swapping it out to something else one of these days.

Re: Holley throttle cable bracket
It works fine, regular old Double Pumper:

Im also running a manual, so I dont have to worry about the TV cable either. There is adjustability for the TV cable too, but that part of the kit is isnt necessary for us. I wholeheartedly endorse investing in a good billet bracket. It wont bend and twist when youre trying to go WOT. Plus they look nice.
However, be aware the return springs on these things can be pretty stout. Mine have worn in nicely over the years, but it's still a lot heavier than stock. I dont mind it at all, though.

Re: Holley throttle cable bracket
I think it's an inch drop. It's pretty deep. May be 3/4 inch depending on how you measure it. The filter is a 1.5 inch unit. I need to move up to a 2 inch, but that one is 1.5, so yuo can see. Im pretty sure it's about your standard drop base. Previous owner of my car was able to fit a 3.5 inch filter on the stock TBI with the stock hood and a half inch spacer.

yea, ive got the 1.5" drop and the spectre universal bracket gets in the way barely. i had to bend it down just a tad. i may have to chance it and get one of the billet brackets and see if it clears.

Thanks for the input guys. I have a drop base I'm hoping to use from the ramairbox.com setup, but it's a big drop. I'll have to measure it.
