Is my sending unit ok for new carb
I have dropped the feul tank to get all of the old gas out of it that sat for 12 years. I just want to make sure that the sending unit that is in the tank now will be ok with the beefed up 350 and 600 to 700 cfm carb I plan on putting on the new motor (not sure what I want to put on yet ... still learning) The sending unit is 25 years old but it was working fine when the 305 motor was in it and I had to move the car to my garage even with the 12 year old gas in it !!
Thanks
Thanks

Check with an ohmmeter "0Ωs Empty / 90Ωs Full".
If you get this readings without any bad spots when move the float lever up and down you should be good to go.

Put a new pickup sock on while you have the tank out.
The 3/8" pickup line is sufficient to supply more power than you'll make with a 700 CFM carb.

Don't plug the vapor line, if it gets clogged or plugged you will have a ton of built up pressure that you don't want. A fuel filter will work fine.

I'm assuming he meant the one that goes to the charcoal canister. Yea, plug that line right at the tank if you can. Just make sure your vent line is in good working order.

I was wondering about that vapor line because if that is not pluged then the vent is usless lol.
Thanks for the replies
