I don't know about that but I do know the new ones are junk. They are so thin compared to the old ones if my old one still works I put it back in.

Doesn't matter. They have used different materials and colors on the pump cup over the years. If you spend a lot of time inside QJets you'll find your favorites, but color has little to nothing to do with it.

Get a good quality rebuild kit and use whatever pump cup comes with it.

Not the cup, as that is the piece of material that makes the seal, right? i'm talking about what the cup attaches to... i just cant think of the name at the moment.

Re: Quadrajet accelerator pump colors

No difference that I'm aware of. Are you thinking that perhaps one color pump has more squirt than another?

Dang.....I remember when the pump cup seal was a leather band backed up with a coil spring.

The pump plunger assy. is what you're thinking of. Use the one that's the same length as your original. There were long ones and short ones. Most carbs take the short one.

Re: Quadrajet accelerator pump colors

I understand the difference in length but there has to be a reason that there are different colors...

Re: Quadrajet accelerator pump colors

It might have something to do with the type of lip seal (cup) that the pump uses.

Hmmm......maybe not.
