Elec Q Jet Carb, Choke issues
Hi, I have a Elec Q Jet on my 350, the carb was rebuild a few years back and the Elec Choke was replaced with a New Gm Unit, the car sat for a few years and Now The choke doesn't want to kick off, the car stays at high Idle. Once in a while I can get it to kick off but not often. If I move the lever on teh side of the car and manually open the choke as soon as I hit the gas it kicks right back on.
Is there anything I can do or check? I don't want to replace teh choke at this time because I do plan on at some point to replace the carb with a 650 or 750 Double pumper.
Thanks

Sounds like the choke thermostat isn't heating up.
Is the choke light on? If so, that could mean the alternator isn't putting out enough voltage (believe it or not, that will keep the choke from heating up), the choke heater fuse is blown, the choke heater relay isn't working, the choke heater wire isn't hooked up properly, or the choke thermostat has an open electrical circuit.
If the choke light isn't on (and isn't burnt out), then most likely the choke thermostat is shot.
