speed demon 750

now yes the carb is probably a bit large, but the article i was following used as 750 holley, first off its an 85 305, but i have bg speed demon 750, trick flow 175 heads, 268 h13 cam, 1.6 rockers, edelbrock rpm airgap, full length hedman headers, now the question: will this work with my stock ecm or am i gonna be losing gobs of power, cause that leads to a new dizzy and playing with the tranny or burning a chip(which is very unlikely).. i was waffling back and forth on a tpi kit i found for same year car and decided i wanna keep it as simple is possible so i have ended up with said carb.

Got a pic of your carb? I'm looking for a 750 Speed Demon for my blown 400 sbc....I have a 650 Speed Demon DP on it now, which made 387 HP and 495 TQ, but I think there's more there, so I'm looking to go bigger.....Just a thought....

Edit: You could use the 750, but you'll need to jet it down, and you might lose a little power on the low end...and using it with any ECM is out of the question....you need to ditch the ECM and go with a vacuum advance distributor with the Demon...

and TPI..?? Some searching is in order....

ill post my pic when it arrives tomorrow, ive been waiting till I got all my pieces before I posted pix lol, and on the research part that's exactly why I went with the carb almost jumped the gun and got it but learned at the last minute of the different computers, and as this one matched my year (85) it was a less desirable tpi set up so I passed. the build I followed was a superchevy 305 build you can google it I think they made 362 hp 350 torque, I went with the alternative bigger cam, thanks for the advice on the dizzy looks like I ll be hunting forums for the trick for locking the converter

You can use the stock distributor in a race-only application. Just set the total timing to 36 and go.

If you plan on driving on the street, you need a vacuum/mechanical advance distributor. With anything but a factory computer q-jet, the ECM will be braindead.
