Re: carb adaptors help
Is your manifold square bore or spread?
Can you take a picture?
The problem is your items need to match the heads and cam to the carb and manifold. Sounds like you are not matching properly. The hurricane manifold is single plane and designed for a 3-7000 RPM powerband. How fast are you planning on spinning your SBC?
You need to know what cam you have. Careful vortec heads cannot handle much lift.
Sounds like you need to sit down and read a lot before you install these parts.
You probably want a typhoon, crosswinds or cyclone manifold.

When I say match I dont mean physically match I mean match for air flow, and power band.
Sounds like you have a spread bore manifold.

Re: carb adaptors help
What do you consider performance?
200hp, 300hp 400hp?
How fast do you want to spin the engine 5000, 6000 RPM?
Are you going to change the cam?
Roller or flat tappet?
Are you getting the heads machined?
Whats your budget?
All the parts have to work together to make power. An intake designed for 3000 to 7000 RPM will not work well on vortec heads and a cam that runs out of power at 5000.

Yeah im doing the cam I just have no clue which one I should get the heads are rebuilt but stock bore I dont think in going to machine them and im looking for 400 hp
Re: carb adaptors help
I knew something was out of whack!
That is totally the wrong intake! It's not even close to what you should use.
Get a performer rpm or it seems like you are into buying the Chinese copies so get the cyclone plus or the crosswind. Personally though, for a few more dollars you can get the edelbrock and keep the money in this country.

Get on google read about vortec heads, max lift and cam selection.
Learn what you already have, your block and the pistons inside.
Set a budget and research.
Don't randomly buy stuff on ebay without previous research.
It will take a lot of effort and very well matched parts to make your goal. it will be even harder without machining the heads.

Re: carb adaptors help
Dual plane manifold like an Edelbrock Performer RPM or similar style from another brand are great for most street applications. The stock Vortec heads and cam will not work properly with a single plane manifold.
I agree. You will be very disappointed with your results if you just slap stuff together that don't match the capabilities of each component. Example, high lift cam (.520) on heads that don't flow above 0.480 lift (not saying that this is your situation, just an example)
Stock Vortec heads can't handle big lifts without modifications. Typical consensus is approximately 0.470 max lift for a "906" head but this can be more or less depending on the head part number. Fast Burn Aluminum heads can handle 0.500" lift which is a Vortec bolt pattern as well.
Put down the tools and start reading.
