any input helps

I had to get rid of stock carb and i put on an edelbrock 1406. Someone tell me which vacuume lines go where cause they arent the same as the stock carb. And obviously my guesses were wrong cause its idling at 2500. Mainly i need to just know about the canister i front of the carb that has three vac lines off of it and about the pcv that comes from the right of the carb

Re: any input helps

Looking at your former posts, I have noticed a few things.
1) You replaced a better carb for a minor reason that probably could have been fixed for less than the adapter plate and carb gasket cost. Most likely a bad choke unit ($25), possibly something as easy as a blown fuse, less than a dollar, might even be just the wire fell off the choke or it needs to be adjusted, free.
2) The Edelbrock you replaced it with is missing the flaps on the secondaries, which control the metering rods for the secondaries. It will never run right past mid throttle until this is replaced. This is, if there are no other "extra parts" that have been removed from it.
3) You were warned by multiple members that this was a bad idea but didn't heed the advice you asked members with EXPERIENCE for, now you are wondering why you are having problems.
4) You were rude to Midas when he gave you said warning, and I think an apology is in order.
But hey, you have obviously decided what you want to do, who am I to question it.

You have 3 vaccum port in front of the carb.the big one in the middle is for the pcv valve.
The one on the passengers side is a timed vaccum and shout be used for your vaccum advance.
The port on the drivers side is constant vaccum and is good for heater controls.
Also there is a port in the back for you brakebooster.
Hope this helps

Well it is done now so nothing left to do but help. I cannot just sit by and let a car suffer.

Anything sucking in air will probably need to be plugged. Look for anything drawing a vacuum that will be why you are getting 2500 RPM idle.

For the carb its self block any ports not being used. You can get caps at any autoparts store. The big port in the front should go to the PCV valve, one of the two small ports will go to the distributor. I have found that my car likes the times port better but yours may be different.

Take pictures of anything you have a question about it will make things easier.

Yeah.you can disconnect the canister in the front along with A.I.R pump .
That will get rid of a lot of extra hose.
Cap everything not being used and it should be good.

Re: any input helps

Just had a thought. How is the seal between the adapter plate and the carb / manifold?
