FUEL LINE
For The Guys With Factory Q Jets Can The Steel Fuel Line That Runs From The Fuel Pump To The Carb Be Removed/Installed Without Removing The Water Pump,I Checked From The Top And Bottom Of The Engine And It Looks Like It Can't Be Done,There Is Absolutely No Info In The Shop Manual About It.

Re: FUEL LINE
AFAIK, no. It has to go down through a real narrow place; between the "leg" of the WP and the timing cover. The bends won't let it come out. I don't even think there's enough room in there for a flare nut to go through.

Re: FUEL LINE
i have found at least one metal fuel line that ran along on the outside of the water pump, at the JY. do not know if it was original to the vehicle or possibly re-bent at some point. read of others. you may want to check its fit before removing the WP.

Re: FUEL LINE
IIRC, the water pump is not the issue. But you need to get the alternator out of the way, assuming yours is on the passenger side. A picture would help.
Where the heck did you find a new pre-bent fuel line and how much?

Re: FUEL LINE
I remember the fuel line being routed something more like this.
But that was in the 70s and 80s.
And I have bent up some lines to follow that routing. What a PITA.

Re: FUEL LINE
yep. I looked it up and some lines were in fact routed beside the water pump, some behind it.
