1987 Camaro, help with ignition coil

Hi,
since a few weeks I'm a proud owner of a '87 Z28 convertible. I already found invaluable information here at thirdgen.org... I love it! But right now I'm stuck:

It is/was the LG4 option, but the previous owner switched from the orig. electr. Carb to mech. Carb and old style distributor.
I want to bring it back to original. I already purchased the E4ME Carb, ECM, and distributor. I think the last thing I need is the ignition coil?!

But I cannot find information about which coil I need, how it looks, where it is mounted, how it is mounted and how it is wired. I hope somebody can help with some photos!
Thanks!

Small cap divorced coil distributor and coil, just like TBI and TPI for 87-up.

Re: 1987 Camaro, help with ignition coil

Thanks for your fast response.
Yes, I think I ordered the right distributor, the one with remote coil.
But where is the coil mounted, and how? Which brackets do I need? I found a image from a TPI: there, the coil is mounted very close to the distributor, on the passenger side.
But on my engine, I have absolutely no space for mounting it there. Too many hoses and wires are routed through this area... so there must be another place, where the coil is mounted.... but where?

It uses the same bracket as TBI if I remember correctly. Puts a tab on each side of the coil for bolts. Mounts on the intake between carb and dist.

Kinda like this, iirc...

Look for the threaded holes in the intake before buying a bracket that wont fit, just in case I'm wrong.

Re: 1987 Camaro, help with ignition coil

I just took a look under the hood. I've found a little space and unused threads on the intake, between the distributor and the carb (like you said), a little on the drivers side... I think this is it! I'll search for the bracket, but it should be easy, make a self made one.
Thaaaaaanks!

@Tuned Performance and TY92z

Thanks for your offers, but I'm from germany, I think shipping will be 2 weeks and another 25$ ?!
I'll try it here in germany first, if I won't found it, I'll get back to you!
Thanks
