1992 RS questions (Roller chasis to Carb'd SBC)

Hey Folks,

I have the opportunity to pick up a very low priced 1992 RS Camaro, the owner pulled the engine and trans, but all of the harnesses are still there. I want to complete a few things (I have read, searched, and read some more on this forum and google in general).

I have a 1986 SBC 388 stroker bolted to a 86 TH350 transmission that I would like to put into this car. It currently has a HEI dist, carbeuretor, and a mechanical fuel pump. I already have the UMI performance torque arm relocation kit, and the correct driveline for the 3rd gen camaro to bolt into the car.

From what I read
1. I will need to get a fuel pump regulator, or remove the pump from the tank on the 92 RS.
2. I want to disable VATS (owned lost the key..... I'll replace the lock cylinder and such, but from what I read I can ground the black wire from the starter relay by the drivers side kick panel and vats is gone (will I have dash lights on, etc.?)
3. I've not put eyes on the car yet, but it is possibly a V6 car, which I know I'll need to relocate the engine mounts, brake line etc.
4. Gauges (I've read about how to get oil, and temp gauges to work. How will I make the Tach function, and the speedometer?
5. I plan to leave the harnesses in tact, wrap them up and tape them out of the way.

I'm assuming this won't be TOO much different from the 82 I've messed with previously (fuel pump regulator is new to me, and VATS). Power to the dist, alternator wire, starter wires, the basics...... I'm just trying to avoid having to entirely reconfigure the car, but still have functionality of the gauges and such.
