Not understanding your question. Post a pic of the side of the carb where the linkage is hooked up.
That air filter is a fire waiting to happen. If the engine should diesel (run backwards) when you turn the engine off, the carb does not care which direction the air is going through it, it's job is to add fuel to the air. Fuel gets sprayed all over the element (and your paper towel) and ignites. I had it happen to me! Choose a better air cleaner.
Re: 84 berlinetta throttle cable issue street demon carb
Ain't geometry a bitch? You changed the carb. The bracket and cables that used to run to your original carb were designed to work with the linkage on that carb. Your new carb doesn't have the same linkage. The result is the cables/bracket positions and geometry are wrong for your carb.
Usually you can cheat and the throttle pedal will sorta work, but the TV cable for the trans won't be anywhere close to right. Either way, you need to modify the linkage, cables, bracket, or all of the above to make them work right. Just like the adapter between the carb and the intake, you have to adapt things to work. If you can't figure it out, the easy way to go is to stick with a Quadrajet since everything on the car is designed to work with a Quadrajet.
