Electric choke install question

I have a edelbrock 1406 got car with manual clock.
I know manual will hive better mpg cause it can be turned off.
I am reinstalling electronic choke and was thinking of wiring coke into my head light or a separate switch to enable or disable when needed.
my question is will it work or cause issues.

Re: Electric choke install question

Sounds pretty silly. Why would you ever want to disable a electric choke? Without power applied, it will never open and the engine will run rich if at all...

that kinda why I was asking if it possible and if it would cause an issue
only reason I would want to would be increase of mpg.
rather suffer lower mpg than a hole inside a piston or crack

Re: Electric choke install question

The electric choke needs to be connected to a keyed source that will supply 12 volts whenever the ignition is on. A properly wired and adjusted choke will provide the best mileage.

Re: Electric choke install question

If you dont understand the workings of a carburetor choke you should NOT attempt to install an LS engine. Maybe pay someone to do that for you.

Re: Electric choke install question

I didn't get chance to fully grow up with carbs so keeping it to try and learn.
I have done motor replacement before and only been on efi systems.
I pay other for tuning or use stock flashes
