'82 Camaro w/ 350 Swap; No Fuel being pulled
Recently just got an 82 Camaro that has a SBC 350 swap on it and am in the process of trying to solve the multiple issues with it, main one being lack of fuel being pulled to carburetor right now.
I have already swapped a new fuel pump onto the block and put on a new Edelbrock 1406, but I still have no fuel pressure.
What else could I check on the car? I am a newer mechanic so I'm still trying to learn the ropes of diagnosing, so any information is helpful

Lift pump or pump on engine block ? Block cam has lobe for mechanical pump?

I’d check two things. 1) Are the fuel lines hooked up to the correct ports on the fuel pump? 2) Are you able to pull fuel with a vacuum pump (brake bleeder or similar) connected directly to the 3/8” hard line in the engine bay?

Bolt going into the front of the block too long? In other words, bolt holding the pump rod instead of letting the cam move the pushrod to move the pump lever?

As others have already mentioned...
If the Car has an In-Tank Fuel Pump from a prior Engine or Fuel System, it make be preventing fuel from being pulled by the Mechanical Pump.
I have had 1987 Quadra-Jet Cars, that the owners did not know used a small In-Tank Pump and a Mechanical Pump due to GM Bulletins regarding Vapor-Lock.
I do not think it is likely that many 1982 Model Year Cars were retrofitted for that Bulletin...
But Your Car may have an Aftermarket Electric Pump.

I had tried that and got nothing, which makes me think that maybe sock in tank came off or something else happened close by to the tank

I'll be going under tomorrow and taking a look at lines, fingers crossed that its just one of those lines being pinched or just damaged

Bumping this thread cause fixed original issue but have new one and more info:
New fuel pump is in and works as intended, but now fuel isn’t getting through to the my carb (Edelbrock 1306; Manual Choke)
I’ve tried filling bowl multiple times but still will not pull, and am not sure what to check or do now (carb rebuild maybe?)

Re: '82 Camaro w/ 350 Swap; No Fuel being pulled
So your fuel pump is pumping into a bucket when you turn it over, but it won’t pump it up to the bowl when you hook it to the carb? If so, your needle is stuck in the seat. If your carburetor has been sitting for a couple years, a full rebuild is a good idea.
Edit: just re-read that you put a new carb on it. The needle shouldn’t be stuck in it if it’s brand new.

Sorry, Carb isn’t new, not sure why I put that. I bought the carb used. Carb might’ve sat, not 100% confident on that.
