WOW. I wish someone would give me a car like that. Nice find. Plenty of us have carbs on ours.

Many posters here have done that; a forum 'search' should turn up dozens of threads describing the process and solutions to any possible problems along the way.

Re: 91 camaro
So since I’m going in blind from Some one else doing the work and yes I’ve heard this car start and run and drive but it’s been 6 years as I’ve saved it from the weeds.. I hooked a battery up and the ignition wouldn’t turn so my next step is to find out just that, then also my buddy was saying when it was running the car wouldn’t shift into 4th on the 700r4. Should I keep it or just rip it out and put a TH350 or TH400?

Get it running right and then make up your mind.

I would certainly not recommend going backwards to a non-OD transmission in 2025, unless it's gonna be a pure drag race, strip-only car.

Re: 91 camaro
It was a buddy’s car that he just let sit and he actually gave it to my brother and I so it’s our new project car might end up turning into a street/drag car.

Don't go hatin on me for saying this, , , , , ,but!

Someone who knows automotive wiring in general, and hopefully third gen F body wiring in particular, REALLY needs to be spendin some quality time under that hood......

Just sayin.......

Hey I’m not hating at all 😂 I couldn’t agree more with you, I’ve already talked with my dad and brother about it,not only does everything need to be cleaned up and re soldered back or run new lines. As you can see in the pictures it’s a hack job of electrical 😂 I even told my buddy it looks like a birds nest of a mess. All of that is a work in progress and will all be redone. I mean still can’t beat free and only had it here since November. Haven’t even touched it yet, but I will post pictures as time goes.

Re: 91 camaro
Indeed...

That whole engine compartment looks like it could use a serious going-over. That instant death rubber fuel line, the wiring, the transmission-killing TV cable mess, the list just goes on and on. That thing is in no way ready to hit the road as it is. In fact the fornicated TV cable may be a contributing factor to why the transmission doesn't work right. Hopefully it hasn't already destroyed it, since that can happen REAL fast.

Re: 91 camaro
It’s actually all original wiring it just was cut or spliced from the loom and looks like garbage but we will see what happens going to have to trace them all down and rewire most of it. Internal isn’t as bad just under the hood.
