leaking gas from adjustment screws


this is on my 86 comp.controlled carb.gas is leaking I think from the idle adjustment screws on front of carb at bottom.its not alot.are there plastic bushings in there that can be replaced from the outside?I noticed the one thats leaking is loose.thanks

While it's not impolssible that the baseplate or bottom of the fuel well is leaking, i would suspect the fuel inlet a lot more. Have you replaced/messed around with the fuel filter/lines lately. It's possible to have the fuel inlet leak pretty easily even when you think you got it all tight. This leak would then tend to run right into the area you sound like you are talking about.
Other than that, there is nothing you can do with he carb on the car to fix any other leak. You would have to take the carb off and establish where it is coming from.

thanks ed,I know its not coming from inlet.I have a braided line from pump to carb with -AN fittigs,not that they cant leak but I have had that problem before and its not that.would a bad base gasket cause this?

I haven't looked at a diagram in a while, but i can't think of any gasket that could be leaking. The only thing that holds fuel is the fuel bowl, and thus, the gasket seperating the base and the main body doesn't actually hold fuel. A common leak point, the plugs in the bottom of the fuel well, would leak inside the intake, i don't think it could make it anywhere else. Basically, i'm at a loss, i think you need to pull this thing off and see what you can find.
