Going Carb, need some help guys.

Ok, I am going carb and I don't know to much about it. I know the parts I need (correct me if I am wrong) I am getting the ZZ4 from GMPP and I have TBI right now. I am converting it to a Speed Demon 750 vaccum secondary carb (I think its electrical) and then I have to get a aftermarket fuel pump (holley 7psi pump) and a Mallory Return line Fuel Pressure Regulator (not sure at what to set it at. Isn't it like 4-5psi?) Anyways, and I think that is it. Now is there anything I should know? Like I don't know what cable bracket will work with this speed demon and a ZZ4. Will I loose cruise control? Anything I should know about my 700r4 and this carb setup? The 700r4 is being rebuilt to handle the torque and hp from the ZZ4. Do I start a carbed engine differently then I do my old fuel injection? Just stuff like that I would need to know about. Thanks guys.

Use your TBI in-tank fuel pump with a 3-port (supply, carb, return) regulator. Set it at 5-7 psig.

I believe your TBI cables will work on a carb with proper brackets (a recent post showed an aftermarket piece). If not, get carb cables from the dealer for accelerator, TV, and cruise.

By "electric" carb, I assume you mean electric choke. Run a 12-volt ignition-switched wire (only has power when the ignition switch is on) to power it. Before you start the engine cold, depress the accelerator about 1/3, let it up - this sets the choke to the start position. After it starts, tap the pedal to bring the idle down some. It will come down all the way when the engine (choke) warms up and the accelerator is off idle (for instance, as you've been driving it). When hot, depress the pedal to bring the throttle blades slightly off idle while you crank the engine. Let it off when it starts.

The TH700 will do what you want except for the torque convertor clutch lock-up, which is controlled by the computer and won't know what to do without its old signals. Either wire a mechanical switch (see tech articles for how to), or get a lock-up kit from Summit or Jegs (or similar).

No flame intended just a Question how did you decide on a 750 cfm seems a little large for a 305 cid unless you are spinning 8,000 rpm .You may want to try a 600cfm Just my .02 let us know how it works out always willing to learn.
