Swapping from EFI to a Carb in a Thirdgen

I was considering doing this swap and I was wondering if anyone knew if the fuel pump relay is controlled by the computer or not. I have been told that it is not but I'm not sure. If so how would i rewire it to get it to cut on when I crank up the car? Thank you.

Hey,

I got your e-mail. Like I said, hopefully Jester will respond because I am not sure on this. Also, I'll ask my brother-in-law. He would probably know for sure.

If you have a 3 wire oil pressure sender then the fuel pump is on and runing any time there is oil pressure. If you pull the computer and harness you'll have to hard wire the fuel pump to be on with the key, and off when the key is off.

The fuel pump is relay controled, not ECM. If you yank the harness too, you will have to do something to reconnect the relay.

Could I run the hotwire to my ignition coil to the relay somehow?

So if I unhook the wiring from the ecm and remove it from my car I will have to reconnect the relay?

I left the harness in place, just removed the ECM and the fuel pump worked fine.

So if I leave the wiring in and remove the ECM the fuel pump will work like it should?

Yes. You can pull out the computer, but leave the wiring harness in place. All your gauges and fuel pump should still work fine.
