Formula/Trans Am Wanted
Hi everyone. I just found this site after some guys on a 2nd gen TA site recommended it to me.
I am looking for a 3rd gen Formula or TA. I don't have an exact range of years in mind, but I think I prefer from '87 on. Will consider earlier cars if they are in good condition and ready to go.
T-tops are a plus, especially if they don't leak. I'm open to many colors, but do want a car with nice paint, no rust etc. In fact, I'm looking for an all-around solid car...no rust in the floors or anywhere else...very very minor rust considered. Would like a V8 car, and am leaning towards an auto, but manuals definitely considered as well.
I'm in western Mass., and cars within driving distance are a plus. If anyone is looking for a full or partial trade, I have a '74 Jaguar that has been converted to a Chevy 350 and 350 trans. Fun car, but just not my thing.
I don't need a showcar, nor do I have a showcar wallet, but I am looking for a nice, clean car to be used as a daily cruiser from spring through the fall. I don't need this to happen overnight, so I can wait until the right Bird comes along.
Thanks very much for your time, and please let me know if you might have something for me.

Beautiful car, Mike, and your asking price is certainly fair given what you've done to the car.
My piggy bank isn't $5100 full right now, though. By the spring, it will be, but I'm sure you hope to have your car off to a new owner well before then!
Budgets suck, for sure, but I have no choice but to work within mine.

Well it hasn't sold yet so it's not going anywhere but in hybernation for the winter. Keep me in mind if you haven't found anything by spring. I still may have it..
Thanks Mike

Nice car, but like me too I have had my '91 white Formula 350 for sale a long time and nothing, people are not paying 5k for the car and it is sad because mine too is very nice, my description is on the cars for sale section a few months with a photo. I understand one that is beat up and rust which I see a lot on here, but guys like me with multiple Formulas' can't sell them when it is time to cut down in cars in the garage. What really sucks is I had a 2500.00 paint job done on her before she was stored. Andy

1991Formula350,
Don't sell for less, keep her if you can't sell. No sense in giving it away, I say. Maybe someday, you'll get what you want as excellent condition 3rd gens are harder to come by.
I have a clean, 68k mile, 2 owner, excellent condition 91 Formula. Mine's not for sale, but if it was, I wouldn't go below $5k myself. True, you can find early 4th gens for the same price or less which will be faster, but IMHO, the 91-92 Formulas look better than the base and Formula birds from '93-'97, plus they'd have a lot higher mileage. Mine will get a lot more attention and stares on the road any day!
Back during the 1st or 2nd year I owned her, I was passing a school bus on the highway. Every kid in the back was staring at her just as I stared at late 2nd gens when I was growing up. Still brings a grin to my face thinking about the attention I got that day. That's hard to put a price tag on.

You can check my car out, I am asking $2100. The paint is fading. and the front bumper is bad but I think it is pretty good for a car with 130,000 miles. The pics make it look better then it is, It isnt horrible but it is fading and chipping. It is an otherwise solid car no rust and no dents. Check it out. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2122879
I am located in West Islip NY 11795. Not sure exactly how far it is from you.
Thanks for looking
Dennis
Edit: T Tops dont leak a bit, we got a foot of rain in the past week and not a drop of water. Ask vincode8 how much rain we got, he lives near me.

Hi, and thanks a lot for your response. I checked out your car, and it does look cool and the price seems reasonable.
But, I put a deposit on a '92 Formula today, so my search for a third gen is over
