Sellers beware.Must read.

Ok i have something we should all watch out for. Someone from some other country who tells you they will send a chashiers check or money order for over the amount for your car and they want you to cash it and send the other half after your car amount is deducted to thier car moving company. THIS IS A SCAM. What happens is when you deposit the money (cashiers check money order) 2 days later it clears and you can use it then you send them thier money and a few weeks or months later it comes out that the cashiers check or money order was false or a fake then your liable for all that money and you sent the guy a large sum of it youll never see again. In order to be safe make them either make a Western union wire transferre or have them make a bank account transsferre. I advise you make a seperate bank account for this. Its the safest way to do it.This website will explain alot better.Hope this helps.

I have gotten these many times lately for my t/a, and for my crossfire injection setup (sold), both through here and through craigslist. I just tell them they can have their "agents" come to my door and give me cash, or wire me through paypal, then they can do whatever they want with the car

Scam has been going on for years. Many have been taken by this one. Not just cars either.

Who the hell would fall for this ? Obviously some people have but it is up to the person buying a car to set up the shipping.

Re: Sellers beware.Must read.

I just had someone from the united kingdom offer me 125 more than I wanted for a big block , I spammed the fugger as soon as I could , this person was without a doubt a scammer, they said that in their eyes the motor was theirs and I was to remove all ads as they would send some kind of check for it , some crap I'd never heard of from the u.k . checks from out of the country do not have any federal bonding and are not insured by the fdic . I'd have lost my motor and had nothing to show for it . this is crap and scammers should have their underware infested with crabs for trying to pull stunts like these-- just giving my opinion--

Actually, no checks are fdic insured. You could get a bounced check in the US just as easy. That is why pay pal is so popular. I had a e mail from "Brandon Lee' from the England who wanted me to cash money orders and checks. I told him he was in luck because my uncle lives in England and he coud come check his offices out. Never heard from the guy again. If it was "true" that sounds like money laudering and that is time in the big house. Nothing in life free is worth having.

Re: Sellers beware.Must read.

I love to see when people string the scammers along so long because they know what they're up to. Serves them right.
