I made the deal and paid him $440.00 via pay pal immediately. He told me it would ship in 3-6 days. A week later, messaged him to ensure the shipment had gone out. It had not. That was a Monday. He told me, it would be shipped, without a doubt by Friday. Messaged him Friday -- got no response. A few days later I got a message on FB with a picture of his foot (I know.. weird) as he'd been bitten by something. This was a week and a half after my order and payment. AFter he'd told me twice that the shipment was going out. I told him to feel better.. and get my shipment to me. I needed it. My car has no dashboard and I want go get it done. Didn't hear -- then he posted on his FB page that all shipments were going out. Said his brother was helping him -- then he told me my stuff had been shipped. Well, it's now 3 1/2 weeks.. I'm out $440.00 and have been messaging him every day asking for a tracking number -- something to verify it's been shipped. No response. Then I asked him if he had a couple of parts -- he responded... Yes, I have them. I followed up with more inquiry on my stuff.. no response. I called him today -- got voice mail.. and I'm done.

Has anyone else had dealings with this guy? He goes by the name on Pay Pal of "3rd Gen Customs." I'm just a guy trying to bring a 3rd gen back to life and didn't need this hassle.

I have disputed the payment with Pay Pal... and I'm awaiting the result of the investigation.

I'm not the kind of guy to flame someone after a day or two.. but, we're approaching a month and this is simply not right.

These are similar experiences.
If you used Paypal you should get the money back.
I had a bad experience with him a few months ago and did not make an issue out of it because I was hoping it was a one time thing, and I eventually got my part after harassing him a bit. I guess I should have given you guys a heads up.

I don't think he is a bad guy, just a poorly organized business owner. I actually have messages into him about a part that was supposed to come with mine and did not.

I don't want to dump on him at all, but I have had the same experience as the original poster although my purchase amount was much less. I even got the picture of the foot. Lol. I haven't disputed it through PayPal yet, mostly because the amount wasn't that large. I've been waiting on my stuff since the beginning of August. I would agree with what the other poster said, he means well, but doesn't know the first thing about running a successful business.

I got the parts today. They shipped on the 6th after he'd told me they had shipped on the 4th. I guess he told me they shipped.. then got around to it a couple of days later and was so concerned about taking care of me that he shipped it the slowest possible way. Got it.. and it was for:

perfect dash NO CRACKS -- Including gauge surround and lens,
upper console, Hatch Switch, Windows Switches All in excellent shape
switches with White paint --

The Switches? He sent me three window switches.. one with rusted electrodes -- one with no plug at all.. none with a spec of white paint.. all sun faded and no hatch switch

The gauge surround is in good shape.. but, dirty.. but, there's no lens whatsoever.

the console top is dirty.. receivere are all rusted.. not at all in excellent shape as we discussed.

Am I being picky? Yes.. I love my car and I want it right. Am I being impatient? Nope.. waited nearly a month and this is the first I'm saying anything. Am I happy? Nope. Will I use this guy again? No way. Do I expect I'll get satisfaction? Nope.. I'll make due with the dash -- hopefully -- the switches are junk and I will look to buy another console top.

Word to the wise -- this man has a lot of parts but, does not seem to get the urgency of sending the parts in a timely manner.. and I don't think he understands what it means for things to be in EXCELLENT condition. It's really too bad because I have a lot more parts to buy and I will look elsewhere. On the other end of the spectrum -- I've bought a couple of parts from Kurfbird and he sent them either the day of or the next day after payment. That's how you do it.

I can't believe he charged you over 400 bucks for that. I had luck buying stuff like that from Denny at Thirdgenranch.
I gave everything a fresh coat of SEM Landau black, but everything he sold me was in great condition as described.
You should have gotten repro switches. They work and look just like the originals.

He sent pics to verify what I needed, shipped what the pics were of, & it was only a few days!!
He PMd me & called to make sure I got the stuff and made sure nothing was damaged!

UPDATE -- now that I've done a pay pal dispute, I'm hearing from him. He says the parts are over 20 years old... what did I expect. And, he's trying to say it's the same dash as in the picture when clearly it's not. I want to resolve this, but he's gonna have to give me a full refund and I'll ship this junk back.. or I'll keep it and I need a big chunk of my money back. I'll keep you updated.

I give a company 2-3 days to get back with me, if not, I look somewhere else. Too many good people / companies who are a pleasure to deal with, like Lon at TDS.

I second RCAR7395, I have bought a lot of things from him and he is a pleasure to do business with. He even had his gal pal meet me once because he couldn't be available to meet me with parts. I thought that was cool, he could have just cancelled and made it my problem but he didn't.

Same story here. It will be a month on the 20th. $370, told him last night tracking number or refund by monday. If you know anything about Paypal, 45 days is the limit on disputes. Think I'll just save myself the headache and start the process. WTF is wrong with people? I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I had someone hanging like that. Guess that's the difference between a con and a conscience.

I can tell you that in my 20 + years of selling 3rd gen parts, You are in no way being pickey..For $440 he should be ashamed to send you that junk and accept your money.. There are always some variations of "perfect" or "excellent" or "mint" condition but that is just unacceptable.. there is no way that anyone could miss the real condition of those parts. And then to send you a completely different picture.

there have been ALOT of fly by night people who come on here and try and make a business out of selling parts but there is only a very small amount of us that have been able to do it successfully.. I hope that you get your money back through Paypal.

BTW he goes by eaglesproductz on Ebay. No much better feedback their either.

Okay -- I guess a mod or someone moved this thread here. For some reason I don't have permission to view the picture of the advertised dash this guy Jason Siler sent me. Oh well.. the latest is.. I haven't heard from him in more than a day. I told him I'd send him back all of these parts which are NOT at all as promised as soon as he refunds my money. No answer as of yet. There you go.. I'll continue to pursue via Pay Pal.

Long conversation with him on FB tonight.. Called him three times.. (I block my number) and he didn't answer the first two. I told him it was me on FB and he answered. Conversation lasted a very short time. He really has a strange reality.. long story short I told him I'm going to keep the dispute open until I get satisfaction. He's offered me a large chunk of my money back.. and I'll keep the parts. The only part I would even try to use is the dash. He said I'll have the money by Wednesday. We'll see. For what it's worth -- he seems like a nice enough guy who is just way over his head with this business. I'll keep you updated.

Gave me a tracking number for my hood that was supposed to be here by tomorrow. Much to my surprise, there was no corresponding package in UPS's care (sarcasm) Opened a dispute with paypal and could be out my money for up to another 37 days. This guy seriously needs to take a beating. If you're in over your head, man up, admit you can't handle it, and refund hard earned money to the poeple you wronged. Postponing it by telling stories only makes things worse.

Well, as far as him being a standup guy, you believe what you want, the rest of us who had problems have had our fill, and I don't think this is a recent issue, I think this has been going on for a while. I don't think 2 more people is going to make any difference because the person pulling the strings still can't get it together. And Jason, you were the one who made the deals and promises for refund and offering the free parts to make up for the problems, it took almost 4 months and a threat to finally get you to make good on the cash, as far as any parts, well I don't expect I will ever hear from you on that, even if I did I would never see them.

Jason did ship the hood to me. It arrived damaged. But in his defense, every one I have had shipped had damage(5). He made good on the refund as well. The time factor was my biggest problem in the deal, but looking at his FB page, he now promises to ship in four days or free parts. If he can pull it off he may be able to redeem himself with time. I wish him luck in doing so.

I've been watching you from a distance.
I do a lot of dealing with third gen parts, and have a perfect reputation on eBay.
I've tried breaking into the parts market here, but haven't had as much success. Seems a gal selling parts is a scary thing- apparently, I'm not supposed to know anything!
When you were unable to walk, the first thing you should have done was post on here saying that you were injured.
Do you have your parts pulled and organized? If not, that's where I would start. My BIL built me a custom shelf setup just for my Camaro parts. Between my hubby and I, we've stripped 10 cars this summer.

I just had a similiar situation myself. Bought a left fender October 15th. Didn't get it till around the 6th of this month. Damaged due to poor packing and the shipping carrier. Requested a refund at that time. Told another fender would ship out and he would do an insurance claim on the damaged one. Post office picked up the damaged one yesterday and I just received the replacement today. It is in worse shape than the other one. banged up at the bottom. No big deal, but it has a section cut out of it! I can't use this fender at all. I had paid for a good fender not a junk one that I have to pay to get fixed. I told him he can have it back and contacted my credit card company to reverse the paypal charge. I'm beyond annoyed with the whole situation. I would post a picture of this one, but I tapped the box back up. Done with it at this point.

Looks like there's still more "learning" for him to do. As far as the promised free parts, mine would have cost $50 (was a hatch pull down) I just bought one off of a member here for the same price shipped instead. Sad when you can trust a member with no classified rating more than a vendor.
