the buyer (ID = wpskiv) left me a "neutral" feedback, stating it was "rusty junk"
it was stated that it was a combination of NOS and good used
for $375 he made some wild assumption (apparently without reading the item description or viewing pictures) that EVERYTHING was NOS, really?
is there something that I did wrong or is this guy just a loose cannon?
Here is his reply to my inquiry as to why the feedback:
"You sold me a piece of rusted, bent junk. The pictures were deceiving. The tubes did not even fit onto the piece. You screwed me over. $ 400 for nothing. What a con man you are. I threw the junk away."
This was a VERY nice original and was EXTREMELY well packed, so there was no way it was "twisted" during the delivery process
I know there is always the one bad apple out of 1000, this guy seems to be one of those
A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.
Probably should have listed it as used to avoid confusion. The item description is awfully cluttered and hard to read with the multicolored text and what look to be search keywords. Not to say you did anything wrong but you kinda shot yourself in the foot by not idiot-proofing the listing. Even then, there will always be new and improved idiots buying on ebay.
You also state in your add to ask any questions before buying but I tried to ask a question about another item you had and you seem to have that option turned off.
While the ad may be seen as a little confusing in its wording the pictures are not. Clearly, the air cleaner housing is use and the plastic part is unused. Sounds like the Ebayer just has buyers remorse.
Very confusing ad !
What parts are used? What parts are new?
A sucker is born every minute!
That whole assembly can be found at your local pic a part yard
for less than $20 bucks!
I was thinking the same thing. I've thrown a bunch of these out because nobody wants them. I think Don has a few of these in his basement, I doubt he's ever sold one.
The ad was misleading. You should offer him a refund if he ships the parts back.

I don't think I have that kind of feature enabled, I try to reply to questions immediately
item you inquired about was some time ago (not this week)? or?
I have a multitude of consignors and some times if I can't answer the question, I have to ask them and it may take half a day or more to get an answer back

Tuesday 04/11/17 but I just tried it again to be sure - I was curious if the auction for the parts book racks were for 1 of them or both of them - your description was not clear. When I pressed "ask a question" it brought me to the screen with the multiple possibilities, but none of them would allow me to contact you directly - so I dropped it.
Click on "other", scroll down a bit then click contact seller. it will bring up another screen and you can contact them directly.
Like he said, just click on "other" and then click on the button when the "Contact Seller" button appears directly below. Just did it and it worked fine.
we do not picture things that are NOT included in the sale ... I know others do, but we do not, what you see is what you get
Everything in the listing is included, and as stated:
"There are the two as pictured, one is 10 1/4 inches wide and the larger one is 24 3/8 inches wide."
Not sure how we could have been any clearer on what was offered, but thanks for the feedback

I highly doubt he "threw it away" I'm betting he's just being a phallus.

Your listing is very detailed and if the provided pictures despite the actual item for sale then the buyer can't assume that everything is NOS! Some lazy buyers are just assuming and don't take the time to read the entire listing and/or ask questions... I was screwed once selling a decent and nice set of 2nd row escalade bucket seats for 120$ usd that I personnaly shipped from Montreal to Albany Ny (3 hours drive) on my way to Florida. And even with clearly stating the seats weren't new with clear pictures, the buyer assumed they were in better condition than what he paid for?!? I said to him if they were new I would have list them for 1000$ and not 120$... In conclusion when dealing with used parts as a seller or buyer it all ends up in a matter of perspective which for one may look in mint condition to another as junk! You did nothing wrong trust me!
