i changed my mind i'm scrapping the full exhaust idea. my muffler will suit me for a few more years it sound nice anyways....instead i'm doing a rear LT1 disc brake swap! found a good deal on a kit and it will help the car look better with new wheels...

***** might be the guy to ask on the wood dash option. I noted that as well. There are custom wood trim makers out there, so it's entirely possible done via dealer or owner as well.
Ford Girl Gone Bad.... Don't fear, an engine upgrade for more horses is always a good idea and mine's been a daily driver in rain and snow *GASP*.... I can't afford to really operate two cars, though I now have two hahaha
I plan a little bit of work here and there over time, but MOST worried about carriage and rear trunk and quarters rust. Also all mechanical hardware and suspension has the years of wear and tear...and weather. I have cloth interior and surprisingly robust up against some rain!

Idiots -- that's what I think about most mechanics in my area, they are freaking idiots. Cleaned the injection system and BAM! my car runs perfect. To take your car to the shop and have a mechanic who's been in the business 20+ years tell you your engine is shot, then to find out it was something as inexpensive and simple as a fuel injection cleaning -- boy was he embarrassed. Shown up by a GIRL! So, anyway, the Bird is on the Move! Drove her around this weekend, went to the Mt. Airy Jimmie Cone gathering for a few minutes just to look around and now she's ready to get her interior shampooed and cleaned. Here's updated pics with that crazy Azz paint job...I think I liked it better before the cosmic flames and black body kit...

Oh, and here's my current daily driver...completely stock, WS-6 package...she's so nice.

Bill Speed -- thanks for the kind thoughts.
I do have a pretty big garage of cars these days (too bad there's no garage to put them in!).
Right now --
'04 Eddie Bauer Expedition
'92 Ford Bronco XLT
'92 T/A Convertible
'92 T/A Convertible w/WS6
'87 Z28
So, I think I'll be okay -- with this new love of Chevy's though, I could really afford to delete the Expedition. Would give me $$$ to buy a few more f-bodies, lol.

Darn, caught red handed...
Yes, this used to be Bruce's.... but I twisted his arm and now its in my driveway.

I just had the car completely down for paint, and need to post some new pics.... the pics shown here were taken by Bruce, and really don't show the clear coat fade caused by the ASC crew. It was pretty bad.
I'll have the car at the Lowes AutoFair next week in Charlotte, hope to have it at Bruce's 'booth'.... just not all quite back together 100 percent, tonneau cover aligment sucks... but what the heck.
I love to drive this car!!

Howdy!
Hey, guys! This is my first post ever on this forum. I am very stoked that I found it.
I just bought a '92 Trans Am LB9 WS6 convertible with 116,000 miles. Despite the miles, it is in VERY good condition. All it needs is some stitch work done on the top of the back seat from sun damage.
I know that there were only 663 T/A 'verts made in 1992 ... and about 550 or so in 1991 ... but I was wondering ... were they ALL WS6 cars? If not, does anybody know the production numbers of '91 and '92 WS6 convertibles? I love the fact that I have a fairly rare car. I've wanted one of these since I was 14, and now its MINE! I'll try to post some pics soon.
Thanks in advance for any input on the WS6 numbers!
- Chris
P.S. Also, if I keep this car for 10 or so years, drive it fairly regularly (2,000-6,000 miles a year) and then rebuild the motor and repaint it, will it hold its value as well as if I just put it up with 116,000 on the odometer?

I posted my pic a while ago https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/1782779-post124.html at post #124, but I wanted to chime-in again to say that our yearly Fbody event is coming up at IRP (indy) again this year (11th annual!) on may 18-20th. Roadcourse, Drags, AutoX, show, and hotel-parkinglot banquet and fun! This is an F-body specific event that is only this year open to other cars (no mustangs lol) and some pretty awesome 600+ whp vettes are a few of the takers.
visit F-Body Event - Indy 06 - May 18-20, 2006 Indianapolis Race Park if interested.. register and pay.. you won't find a better deal anywhere. I'd love to see convertibles there.. unfortunately you need a rollbar to get onto the roadcourse. Still if you're local.. drags and hotel-fun are always cool.
Sorry for the advertising.. I'll replace this post with a new picture of my car with the rollbar and nitrous/HSR in view.
BTW gcgarner.. awesome find! I doubt very much all were WS6.. and retaining value is good if you plan on selling it (I'm keeping mine!) and it sorta depends on how long you wait to sell it. remove the engine as-is and replace it with a new one.. then when you sell, drop the ORIGINAL motor back in. 40 years from now you'll get 85-90% of the normal selling price for a 'totally factory stock' car if you do 'period mods' right now, and leave those mods installed for the 40 years. Something like a T-ram will probably bring the selling price closest to the factory-original price... and in the case of the t-ram may actually fetch the maximum if done at a well-known performance vendor's facility. If you really want to make an investment out of this car, check for replaced parts now. I found junkyard markings on my bumper when I swapped a factory aluminum bumper on
so I didn't mind cutting and welding for the subframes and the rollbar.

Point well taken about retaining value ...
I have only had this car a week, but I can see myself keeping it for a very long time. Maybe I shouldn't worry so much about the miles.
I'm not going to drop a new motor in it and then replace it with the original ... too much time and money ... I like her just the way she is.
Thanks for the input!
