prices

Anyone with convertible experience, what are the average prices, either from a junkyard or regular seller for:

'91-92 GFX
front and rear convertible fenders/quarters
rear convertible spoiler (all three pieces)
tonneau cover
all convertible hardware (hinges, rails, etc.)

Any other convertible specific parts that tend to need replacing when restoring a car? I'm trying to draw up a plan as to how much it would cost to restore the convertible vs. the hardtop. Thanks for any help you can give me.

All I can say is good luck finding one.

Hopefully, you'll get lucky and the owner won't know what he has.

Yeah... I think most of us are so damn happy to have actually found the parts, the price becomes a secondary issue.

I agree. Graphics are easy. Quarter panels, and fenders can be modified to fit. Afterall that is all ASC did. Take a T-Top car and cut it down. Most convertible only parts are hard to come by. Though I have the spoiler and two tonneau covers for sale

Thanks for the advice fellas. I had no idea the parts were that rare.

Car came from an auto auction, I originally bought it for parts, but once I got it home and looked it over I started to seriously think about keeping and restoring it. One of the downsides of liking thirdgens.

Well, Ill tell you that is what I am doing to mine. It was in sad shape. So I jsut decided to do the full ground up resto, but of course I am adding ALL of the goodies at once as well. Full Spohn, P-S-T, TDS suspension, Super Ram 355, Pro built tranny, etc... It gets real expensive man. I figure I will have about $25,000 into the car for the initial purchase price and this resto. Doesn't count brakes, oil changes, radiator flushes, etc... Since I have had the car. Everything will be new or new to the car. IE you dont need a new STB as long as it still is straight and looks good. But you have to figure I will have more power and will be able to out maneuver a new Z06 corvette for less than half the money, and mines a convertible Camaro it makes me smile
