Trouble
Trouble
Ok, folks. It looks like i have lost my keys (all of 'em). The car is unlocked in my garage, so i can get inside the car to change the lock. The problem is the trunk, how do i get in the damn trunk? Any ideas?

Graboid,
If you can get in the passenger compartment of the car couldn't you flip down the rear seat, pop the toneau, and then reach back to the trunck latch and open it? I know, there is some plastic stuff between you and the latch but If memory serves me right there are two plastic screws inside the compartment that holds that plastic in place. I can't right off remember if there are any fastners on top. I believe that with a screwdriver and a flashlight you should be able to pop the catch and get the trunk open without even having to remove an interior panel...
Sounds like more fun than a guy should be allowed to have!
Good Luck! Let me know how you come out!

Either crawl in and peel the bottom of the plastic panel forward and reach up to pull the cable that goes from the tumbler to the latch, or you may be able to pull the hatch light out of the panel and turn it with a screwdriver, the 2nd i know works on the newer 91-92 motor, and i use the first on the older ones.

Well iin the US over here if you take your VIN and proof of ownership to a dealer you can get new keys cut.
If your willing to spend some $$ maybe call a locksmith and have him pick it.

Once you've crawled into the trunk you can pop out the rear hatch light lens. You'll have access to the 10mm screw that holds on the manual trunk release. Once you've removed it you'll see a square hole. Move the tab inside that square hole to the right and it will pop the trunk.
