Roll-bars

ON page 2 of "your convertibles" -- AUTOROC has some good pics of his car with just the kind of roll bar I'm looking to put in the back of my '84......I thought I had seen some notes back and forth about this but havent been able to find them again.....any help on the manufacturer, and if any mods to the back seat area needed to be made.....

AutoRoc's rollbar was custom made if I remember correctly. I made a thread a few months ago asking about rollbars as well, and TPI383 answered with all the specs on the kind of bar he has.

autorocs bar looks like it fits nicely under the ragtop....do you know which subject your thread was under, was it in the Convertible section, or Body & Interior ?...... I seem to remember seeing a few posts about rollbars, but cant seem to find them again......any help would be appreciated....

OK, TPI383, man you've been doin some work, I've thought about the 8-point cage, the back bars, where they curve over the seat, they have a plate thet bolts to the floor and the bar welds to that?? what about up front along the front seats, same deal?? I guess you trim out the carpet?,, my car has the elec motor for the top mounted behind the back seat, wonder about interference there.........got ant more pics of the side and way back mountings?????

WOW !!! there are some awesome set-ups in those pics......really liked the red car with the side bars swept down to allow easier entry, and the extra bracing in the back..took some thought and good welding...........but yeah my car is equipped with a power top, still has the folding back seat with the motor and stuff mounted behind it, doesnt work when you hit the button and I havent had a chance to mess with it yet...I'm going to try and post some pics here on the site in the next couple weeks, so maybe someone can help identify who dod the conversion......story is it went to California to be converted, but thats a 3rd hand story, and the dealer personell werent helpful at all -- they said get on Chevy.com and type in 1984 Camaro----yeah right.......
