putting vert on frame machine

Well i just dropped my car off at the frame shop. To put the a car on their frame machine they ude the pinch welds along the underside of the car, problem is that on out convertibles the stupid boxed metal rails cover the pinched welds where they need to lift the car. Has anyone ever had their car up on a frame machine? Hopefully they can work out a way to get it up there without breaking anything.

Going to cost me $90 for them to give me an estimate on what it will cost and how long it will take. but well worth it if they do it right. I'm thinking no more than 5 hours of work, my car isnt wrecked, just messed up.

$90 is the usualy setup time and Min fee.

If its not that bad it should be under $500 to tweek as needed.

most other places wanted min of 150 to just get a print out, i was happy with 90.

Hey chris, i've been meaning to ask you something, you do powder coating and things right? The set of wheels i was selling ended up peeling around the outside lip, i think it was caused by the tire shine i had used, the company wanted me to get 2 estimates on getting my 4 wheels fixed and they want a sample of the product. Do you coat wheels? what would be a good idea for me to do to them? some kind of powder coat or chrome or clearcoat? i dont know what my options are, i believe the coating on them now is an opal coating, not sure what it is. but it made the wheels more expencive than the normal coating they came with

email me back at jer4251@hotmail.com if you think you might be able to help me out somehow.

thanks

i havent got your email yet,

update: frame shop called me back to let me know what the deal was. turns out they cant even put it up on the machine with the side rails that are installed on our cars, they cover up the pinch rails that are used to lift the car.

anyways, i asked around before and never got an answer. can the rails be removed and replaced with a full set or hartop sub frame connectors? has anyone ever done it? what do people do who doo their own conversion. like your car TPI383, was a coupe before, what do you have under the car?

My vert is on the frame machine right now. What they did is welded tabs to the box rails and they used those to put it on the machine.

They are charging me a good amount more for this though. They have to weld tabs, align the frame, grind the tabs off, and then resurface the area the tabs were.
