88z

I pass a red 88 Iroc everyday that's for sale. It's red w/a back top.
Has the 305 tpi motor in it. Beautiful car! Has 78,000. Was this a GM converted car or ASC? Guy wants $12,500 for it--too rich for me.

Axle/Gears: One's with teeeeefs

WRONG
Not all 3rd Gen Verts were done by ASC. There were several companies that did convertible conversions.
I think that what you meant to say was that all 3rd Gen Verts that were ordered thru GM were done at ASC. Now that is a true statement.

12K for an 88 IROC convertible better have a freakin' supercharged LT1 in it.

That's kinda high for just a stock vert even with low miles. If it's original to the Northeastern US there is the salt factor to deal with as well... Ask Bill about that one.

I think the owner is fishing for a significant profit and/or is not serious about selling it.

12K definitely way too much for it...even wih 79K miles.

how's the top? Back window cloudy and mildewed? All the vert top parts there and working

Since it is a vert, it would only have come with a 305

How's the interior
AND as was already mentioned....how's the salt/rust factor

no rust--new top and window--interior looks good. Can't see any rust.
Owner has to be in his 60's-70's. Has those cheesy metal fender gaurds on them tho.

He's a little old to be smoking crack but that's the reality. You can get a similar car in similar shape for half that cost. I'll guarantee.

I would have to agree with most.....$12,000 is just toooooooo much for that car. Watch Ebay for a good price on what they are worth. There must be 15-20 verts on there right now...

Looks nice.... except for the ghetto rust caps. But I agree, 12,500 is a little steep. It's conceiveable that someone with a lot of unnecessary money would buy it on impulse, or if the guy was a skilled salesman. Some day it will be a bargain at 12 - five, but I think that's still a few years in the future.
